THE LEGACY LIVES HERE
This is reverent. This is rare. And this is just the beginning.Yellowstone Ranger Stories is built from lived history—rangers who stayed, served, and knew the park like no one else. Their stories shaped Yellowstone. This is where those stories are carried forward.

WHAT IT IS
Yellowstone Ranger Stories is a cinematic storytelling experience rooted in awe and legacy. It brings retired rangers back into the spotlight to tell their stories. We pair their voices with short films, vintage photos, and curated sound. It’s like Ken Burns meets live ranger campfire talks. The goal? To preserve what’s quietly disappearing—reverence, connection, and the human heart of the national park experience.

WHY IT MATTERS
Our national parks are still awe-inspiring—but something has quietly faded: the human voice at the heart of it all. Ranger presence, storytelling, and intergenerational memory are disappearing.Yellowstone Ranger Stories is a response to that loss—a revival of the ranger voice, rooted in authenticity, connection, and deep respect for place.Alongside each story, we preserve the living archive—like this 1953 ranger log from Bechler Station. Recorded by Yellowstone Ranger Dale Nuss, it captures a quieter, harder, more human era of park life. These aren’t just records. They’re echoes of legacy. And they still have something to teach us.

WHERE IT'S GOING
We’re beginning in Yellowstone’s gateway towns, with the goal of growing into a park-hosted program—anchored by memory, guided by those who’ve worn the flat hat, and built to last. Each season will feature a cinematic core film, guest ranger storytellers, and curated legacy content drawn from real park history. As we grow, a portion of proceeds will support preservation efforts that honor the people and places at the heart of Yellowstone.Want to see the full vision behind Yellowstone Ranger Stories?
Why It's Different

🌲 Built to protect the ranger legacy before it disappears
The Story Behind the Stories

I grew up with the quiet hum of ranger life in my bones. My father wore the flat hat for 35 years in Yellowstone.
My grandfather ran Camp Trails, a backcountry youth camp in the park from 1928 to 1958.This place shaped my family—and now, this project is my way of giving something back.Yellowstone Ranger Stories is a storytelling platform and a creative business—
but at its core, it’s a cultural revival.
A way to hold onto the presence, memory, and voice of those who knew the park by heart.I’m just one storyteller.
But I carry the echoes of many.—Lori Nuss, Founder
